Alex & Zoe’s Elegant Mulberry House Wedding

Some weddings just flow effortlessly, from the people, to the place, to all those little in between moments that make the day feel special from start to finish. Alex and Zoe’s wedding at Mulberry House in Essex was exactly that, and it was an absolute dream to photograph.

Mulberry House is such a beautiful venue, and the staff are genuinely lovely too, which always makes a huge difference to how smoothly a day runs. There’s the perfect balance of classic elegance and relaxed, modern charm, meaning everything feels natural and unrushed. It’s the kind of place where moments happen easily, and you can simply let the story unfold in front of you.

The morning set the tone perfectly. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Mulberry House is how relaxed everything feels from the very start. With Alex and Zoe getting ready just a few rooms apart, the day unfolded calmly and without any rush. No travelling around, no pressure, just time to enjoy the moment.

Set outdoors in glorious sunshine, the ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion. Genuine smiles came easily, and happy tears followed just as naturally. Friends and family gathered around them, celebrating love, laughter, and the faith that sits at the very centre of their story.

Thanks to my long lens, I was able to stand beneath a shaded tree, letting the moments unfold naturally while trying to stay cool.

The grounds offered so many great spots for photos. Of course, the grand house itself was a must have backdrop for portraits, and the charming bridge over the lake was another perfect location for romantic shots. Sunlight filtering through the trees and shady corners made for relaxed, natural photos, and every angle added something special to both couple and group pictures.

As the day rolled into evening, the atmosphere shifted into full celebration mode. Heartfelt speeches brought laughter and a few more happy tears, followed by the cake cutting and first dance. The night then took a fun turn with surprise family performances that had everyone cheering, before the dance floor came alive during the Greek money dance. Wrapping up the celebrations in tradition, joy, and a whole lot of energy.

We were blessed with a stunning sunset to end the day, a perfect close to Alex and Zoe’s wedding at Mulberry House. It felt like the calm after such a joyful celebration.
